The 2011 Edinburgh International Curling Championship will take place between 25 and 27 November and the Senior Championship will be played in leagues on 23 and 24 November with the knock-out games being held back until Sunday 27November – in tandem with the main event semi finals and finals.
The Organising Committee have already met on a number of occasions, so plans are well underway; we certainly hope for kinder weather conditions than we got in November 2010 when the event was nearly snowed off! That didn’t stop the curlers though and some great games were served up in both competitions last season.
For the main event, invitations have been sent out to some top Scottish teams, including last year’s winners skipped by Graham Shaw and we have already received entries from top European teams. The Edinburgh International is shaping up to be a competitive highlight of the Champions Tour season.
The Seniors competition is also shaping up nicely. Colin Hamilton and his local rink will be back to defend their title. There will be sixteen teams entered and, in addition to Colin, we have already received entries from other top teams that competed in last season’s Scottish Senior Championship as well as some teams from south of the border!
We look forward to giving you a warm welcome to Scotland’s Capital City in November.
